When You Are Married To A Yoruba Demon

I am an Igbo girl married to a Yoruba man,  we live in Lagos and have been married for four yrs now with a child. For d past two yrs we have been having series of quarell and fight, there was a time he hit me and i fainted. When ever we have a quarel he must slap or beat me up, i have been enduring that bcos i dont want to end my marriage and the more reason why he beats me up with d slightest provocation is bcos i come from a very poor family,  he sometimes provide financial to my parents.
 Recently there is this new church i am attending wch he asked me to stop and i did, he was till very angry at me afterwards wch made him call my uncle explaining everything to him,  my uncle asked him to come down to Enugu with me,  so we can settle the problem,  my uncle pleaded with him to calm down and not do anything to me, not knowing i am already his punching bag,  he said ok then got off the phone and pounced on me,  he held to  remember i was once married to a yoruba man, this is like a promise he made to me. I ran out of the house that night and slept with a neigbour, the next morning i got a phone and called my uncle explaining what happened,  he asked me to come back immediately and not to go back to the house b4 he kills me. I am afraid if i travel down to Enugu without telling my husband he might divorce me or not take me back again and i dont want that to happened. What will i tell people at home, how will my parents cope without his financial help, considering the fact i married very late,  at 37. I married him bcos i had no option again wch i am seriously regretting now. My uncle has sent me transport money to come bk but i am still confused wether to go or not. I dont even know if am ranting or seeking for advice. Do u guys think it is wise for me to travel down to Enugu considering all i have said. Sorry for my long write up.
