There was a fire outbreak yesterday night in one of the female hostel (Okeke hostel) at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.Cause of the fire is still unknown, though there are many specualtions; some say it is due to electrical fault,while some are saying a girl was cooking and left her stove unattended to which lead to the fire. The good news is that no live was lost, just properties.
The whole 300 series of the building was razed down.....200 and 100 series was saved, a total of 34 rooms which houses about 136 students was burnt down.... Nsukka fire service department did their best with the little or no equipment they have.
The few students around are busy parking and relocating there properties, the VC/Dean of students affairs are yet to say something about the incident.....More photos below.....
